This is a Tokoname-yaki straight-sided pickle jar.

Hisamatsu Kiln's ceramic pickle jars are of high quality, and it is a shame to know they are no longer available.
Ceramic pickle jars have minimal temperature fluctuations, making them ideal for pickles and other preserves. This jar uses a safe glaze that does not contain heavy metals such as lead or cadmium.
Umeshu (Plum Wine)

I used this jar to pickle plums a few times.
It has been stored since then, but I re-examined it for this listing and found it to be in beautiful condition.
