During the 1940s-1950s, due to wartime material controls implemented during World War II, manufacturers were forced to simplify specifications. Jackets with four buttons instead of the usual five are indicative of WWII models from the 1940s. This jacket features black lacquer buttons, black stitching on the collar, front, buttonholes, and hem, with white stitching elsewhere. It has a selvedge edge on the inside.

I've always admired the coveralls worn by the protagonist Andy (Tim Robbins) and others in the movie The Shawshank Redemption. This original prisoner jacket, with its similar era and details, is likely what you're looking for.
Made from lightweight denim, this piece shows signs of wear from prison labor and numerous repairs over time. Its oversized fit allows for a unique atmosphere when simply layered over a t-shirt, something replicas cannot replicate.
Compared to store-brand or military models from the same era, these jackets are rarely seen on the market.
