Whether or not broken tools can be detected is a crucial factor in reducing scrap, rework, and downtime. TRS2 is an affordable system that provides high-speed and stable tool breakage detection.
TRS2 employs Toolwise technology, which analyzes laser reflections to inspect tools for damage. As it is a non-contact system, there is no risk of damaging the tool during inspection. It can detect breakage even in small-diameter tools under a millimeter.
The laser transmitter and receiver are integrated into a single unit, making it easy to install on vertical, horizontal, or multi-axis machines.
It can also be mounted at an angle, allowing for inspection of the tool on its way to the table after tool changes, eliminating wasted travel time.
