Description

Wooden carved hanger, Naga, made in Laos

Thank you for looking.

I purchased this at a souvenir shop in Laos around 1998.
This is a wooden carved hanger using relief carving, which is one of Laos's traditional crafts.
It is mainly used to display Lao silk tapestries. (Fabric not included)

It is displayed by threading a string through the hole on the back of the Naga serpent god.
