This is an unopened item purchased some time ago.
I have 4 units, and from those, I opened one (photos 6, 7) where the included batteries had leaked and tested it. It did operate.
One of the three batteries was no good, so I replaced it.
I do not know the condition of the included batteries (LR44) for this item.
