About the poster:
Akiko Tabata (1940-1969) was born in Maki Town, Nishikambara District, Niigata Prefecture (now Nishi-Kambara Ward, Niigata City). Her oil paintings, numbering less than 10, feature organic lines and forms, with white paint layered over the canvas, creating a unique sense of floating. This exhibition showcases a series of her representative oil paintings alongside over 200 sketches, exploring the world of ephemeral images captured by Tabata.
