[Product Description]
Thank you for looking.
This is a set of 3 rantai lacquerware hand towel trays (hand towel rests/trays), a traditional craft that embodies Japan's wonderful craftsmanship, made by weaving bamboo and layering lacquer. This is a highly atmospheric vintage item with a Showa retro feel.

[The Charm of Rantai Lacquerware]
Rantai lacquerware is a labor-intensive traditional craft where skilled artisans carefully hand-weave thin bamboo strips one by one, and then finish by repeatedly layering lacquer onto the base.
The most captivating feature is the beautiful contrast and unique gradation created by the vibrant red of the lacquer peeking through the intricate weave and the deep black (jet black) covering the surface. It changes its expression depending on the light, elegantly and formally enhancing your table setting.

[Lightweight and Excellent Durability]
Based on bamboo material, it is extremely lightweight, yet very durable and practical due to the layered lacquer. It is resistant to cracking and long-lasting, making it very suitable for everyday use.
