These are decorative stones made from crushed Awaji tiles, produced on Awaji Island.
Unlike regular silver tiles, these are rare black tiles made from Awaji Island soil rich in iron. They have a slightly angular shape, and their natural, non-dyed, matte black color has a subdued luster that deepens when wet.
They have lower water retention and absorption rates than Fuji sand, offering excellent drainage!

Furthermore, tiles are excellent for water purification,
absorbing impurities and promoting bacterial growth, making them suitable for use as substrate stones in aquariums or as aqua soil.
Their black color makes plants and fish appear more vibrant and stand out.
