This is pumice that has been washed, dried, and roasted at high temperatures.

It is sterile, highly breathable and well-draining, yet also retains moisture. It is very hard and resistant to crumbling, making it ideal for mixing with other soil components.

Larger granules are used as drainage material at the bottom of pots.

Its excellent drainage and aeration, along with its hardness, make it suitable for succulent plant soil mixes, such as for Haworthia, Agave, and cacti.

When growing succulents, the most common mistakes are overwatering or using soil with poor drainage and aeration, leading to root rot. Therefore, we recommend mixing in soil like this to help them grow healthily.

It is also often used as a decorative top dressing on potted plants for aesthetic appeal.
