Cap Shell Plate Large Dish Tray Approx. 33cm

This item was found during a clean-out of an old traditional Japanese house.

This is a handicraft (natural shell lacquerware) made by utilizing the mystical luster of natural shells, meticulously carving and polishing each shell, and then attaching them one by one to a natural wood board using a patented method. Made by Art Capital Shell in Ise City.

The petal-like design and the iridescent sheen unique to shells are exquisitely beautiful, and it makes a statement even when simply displayed.

Perfect for Asian interiors, resort-style, or natural-themed rooms.

Also recommended as a tray for fruits, accessories, or display.

New and unused, but has been stored long-term since the Showa era. The outer box has stains and signs of age.
