Description
Thank you for viewing.

The Hassun-bon (eight-inch tray) was originally used as a stand for offerings in Shinto rituals. It is said that the tea master Sen no Rikyu incorporated it into tea ceremonies (kaiseki).
While it is widely recognized as a stand for displaying Kagami Mochi (New Year's rice cakes) during the New Year,
over time it became a vessel for serving torizakana (appetizers), and gradually Hassun became a dish for serving sake and appetizers. Currently, only the name remains, and Hassun has become a course in Japanese cuisine.
It is also widely recognized as a stand for displaying Kagami Mochi during the New Year,
and is used as a confectionery dish by placing hanshi (half-sized paper) on it.

The name Hassun (eight inches) originates from the size of the vessel used for serving food.
The size of the vessel is said to be 8 sun (approximately 24 cm) on each side.

Material: Made from high-quality wood,
it combines durability and beauty.
It is likely cypress.
Shape: Square
The seams are joined using craftsmanship without metal fittings.
Size: Approximately 23.5 cm x 23.5 cm x 3 cm (height)

Perfect as a dish for New Year's cuisine and for New Year's decorations.
