I believe there are two plants planted.

The plant grows larger each year from new shoots emerging from the roots, and it can also be grown from seed.
As this is an autumn seedling, the stems are currently elongated and trailing. However, if you cut it back to the base, new shoots will grow quickly, and strong stems will emerge in the spring. (I overwinter mine by cutting off the above-ground parts.)

Shipping will be done by removing the plant from the pot, moisturizing the roots, placing it in a zip-lock bag, and sending it via the 4th class mail service.
