Straw-crafted turtles (warazaiku no kame) are traditional Japanese lucky charms symbolizing longevity and prosperity.

Longevity and Immortality: As the proverb goes, Cranes live for a thousand years, turtles for ten thousand, turtles have long been considered creatures of great longevity.

Perseverance and Patience: Their steady, step-by-step progress can also signify the continuation of things, patience, and business prosperity.

Wealth and Fortune: Especially the Zenigame (money turtle), whose shell resembles Edo-period coins, is considered a symbol of financial luck and fortune.

Prosperity of Descendants and Family Harmony.

Protection and Stability: The hexagonal pattern of a turtle's shell is used in decoration as kikko-mon (tortoiseshell pattern), representing harmony in nature and symbolizing stability and protection.

Straw-crafted turtles are widely used as New Year's decorations and gifts for celebrations such as the New Year, life milestones, and housewarmings.
