Description
This is a handmade shimenawa for New Year's, Shinto altars, and local deities.
The straw used was harvested in September 2025. The straw for this product is from a superior rice variety called Tochigi no Hoshi, which was once selected as a ceremonial rice offering for the Daijosai (the enthronement ceremony).
This product is brand new, created on September 20th.
Length: Approximately 68cm
Twisted section:
Width: Approximately 35cm
Thickness: Approximately 1.0cm
Additionally, we will include hemp ropes (approximately 40cm x 2) needed for attaching the shimenawa to your Shinto altar, as well as shide (paper streamers), measuring approximately 20cm (height) x 6.5cm (width).
?? Photos from the 4th image onwards are for illustrative purposes only. Shinto altars and altar fittings are not included.
?? There may be a bluish tint, which may fade over time. Please be aware of this in advance. Also, the shimenawa will be rolled for packaging and shipping, which may cause some straw to break or shed debris.
?? Measurements are approximate and may vary slightly due to manual measurement. Please understand this in advance.
?? We cannot accommodate requests to increase or decrease the number of shide. Please understand this in advance.
?? This product is intended for indoor rituals (such as for Shinto altars). If used outdoors without a roof, it will deteriorate rapidly and may break within a year.
?? As this is a handmade item and managed by an individual, we do not accept returns or exchanges. Please understand this in advance.
?? Discounts are not available for bulk purchases.
