Gunner Nylund R?rstrand Miniature Vase

Whispering Vessel

Born from the earth and forged in fire, this miniature stoneware vase quietly embodies mid-century Scandinavian design. Designed by Gunnar Nylund for R?rstrand, its form flows with graceful curves, a harmonious blend of solidity and fluidity, reminiscent of ancient river stones. The surface is enveloped in a matte glaze, its organic, muted tones evoking the mossy depths of Nordic forests. To the touch, it offers a texture that seems to suspend time, a delicate balance between the earthy warmth of raw clay and the refined elegance of modernism. Though small enough to cradle in your palm, it holds the vast, serene weight of the landscapes that inspired it.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a prominent Swedish-Danish ceramicist, celebrated for his modernist stoneware designs for R?rstrand in the mid-20th century. His miniature vases are highly prized for their sculptural, organic forms and exquisite feldspathic glazes.
