Showa Retro Original Item Kadomatsu 60cm Rare Plastic Material Base

This is Kadomatsu, a traditional Japanese New Year decoration. This is an original item from the Showa era, a rare artificial Kadomatsu that is difficult to find today.
It is made of plastic and can be displayed repeatedly without maintenance, but its charm lies in its substantial feel, unique to the Showa retro style, which sets it apart from modern mass-produced items. The construction of the bamboo nodes, the way the rope is wrapped, and the overall modeling are thick, giving it a deep flavor and presence characteristic of vintage items.
It has been carefully stored for many years, and the main central bamboo part and decorations such as the plum blossoms inside are still in very solid condition. Thick plastic has been used, allowing you to enjoy a unique texture not found in modern products.
However, as this is a very old item, the outer fronds and other fine leaf parts have weakened adhesion due to age and may fall off easily when touched. It is highly likely that further leaves will fall off due to vibrations during shipping.
Therefore, we recommend using it as a base material for handmade items or remakes rather than displaying it as is. For those who enjoy fresh flowers or flower arrangements, you can use the solid bamboo base as a vase and create your own luxurious Kadomatsu by combining it with your favorite pine, new artificial flowers, or fresh flowers.
Since it is made of plastic, it can be placed without worry in areas close to the outdoors or at the entrance, and it will enhance the atmosphere for store displays, props for photography, or as an interior decoration for a traditional Japanese house style.
We recommend this item to those who can utilize the careful craftsmanship typical of Showa-era products and breathe new life into it. It is a very valuable material for those who can appreciate the texture of age as retro charm, or for those who enjoy maintenance and arrangement.
