This product is a pure nickel strip for 18650 lithium-ion batteries.

The size is 0.20 x 10 x 200 mm, and it comes in a pack of 12. You can cut it with scissors or other tools as needed.

Due to its larger cross-sectional area, this strip has lower resistance. For example, compared to a 0.15 x 8 mm pure nickel strip, its resistance is approximately 40% lower, and its rated current is about 60% higher, which helps reduce power loss and heat generation.

Furthermore, this product is made of high-purity nickel with 99.98% purity, making it suitable for applications such as electrode plates for electrolytic nickel plating.

Please note that products sold as nickel strips can be either pure nickel strips, consisting solely of high-purity nickel like this product, or nickel-clad steel strips, which have a thin nickel coating on both sides of steel.

Nickel-clad steel strips primarily use steel, which is much cheaper than nickel. While they are significantly less expensive than pure nickel products, their resistance is more than twice as high as pure nickel products of the same size.

Additionally, since the nickel only protects the front and back surfaces of the strip, rust can form on the sides due to humidity and other environmental factors.

Besides rust, galvanic corrosion can occur due to the contact of dissimilar metals (nickel and steel), leading to the preferential corrosion of the steel.

Pure nickel strips can be used safely and stably for extended periods, even in environments where nickel-clad steel strips would immediately rust.

Since they look identical, some vendors may sell nickel-clad steel while claiming it is pure nickel. If the price is extremely low, it is highly likely that they are selling nickel-clad steel under the false pretense of it being pure nickel.

If nickel-clad steel is used instead of pure nickel for electrode plates in electrolytic nickel plating, the plating solution will become contaminated with iron and become unusable. Please ensure you only use pure nickel.
