Kyoto Tsurizome is a dyeing method carried out at a dyeing factory in Nishijin, Kyoto, with over 200 years of history, where they have been involved in dyeing imperial court supplies for generations as hereditary dye masters. The fabric is wound into a cylindrical (spiral) shape, suspended in a circle with about 8mm spacing between layers, and slowly dyed by immersing it up and down in a dye bath without the fabric rubbing against itself, which creates elasticity in the material. This is a cotton material that incorporates ATON's original dyeing technology, characterized by the flexibility that is created when the product moves.
