All logs listed are cut from the same large trees that we use for shiitake cultivation this year.

~Our Cultivation Management~
? Quercus acutissima felled on December 17, 2025
? Inoculation (Nikumaru) from February 18, 2026 for a while
? Inoculated logs are in temporary resting
? Main resting
? Harvesting

? We dry the logs for about 2 months from felling to ? inoculation. If drying is insufficient, the growth of shiitake mushroom mycelium will be suppressed.
I have seen people inoculate immediately after felling, but it will definitely fail.
Also, we inoculate generously with the spawn.
? After temporary resting, it moves to ? main resting and then ? harvesting.
? The sign for main resting is when the mycelial pattern is visible on the cut surface of the wood.

We harvest a lot of shiitake mushrooms by cultivating them this way at our home.
