This is a single remnant piece. The original beige lettering is approximately 48cm, and the pattern is 92cm.
Upon closer inspection of this kimono fabric,
you can see seasonal flowers,
flowing water, figures, and more, as if evoking the classical literature of The Tale of Genji.
I found the design to be truly exquisite.
It reflects a high level of education and aesthetic sensibility.
The chirimen fabric, which appears to be luxuriously crafted,
is made of high-quality 100% silk, enhancing its elegant luster and texture.
Within the pattern, the finely depicted objects symbolizing the elegant and華やかな (hanayaka - gorgeous/splendid) imperial court, the natural world, as well as flowers and flowing water,
this composition spread from the aristocracy of the Edo period.
The vibrant colors and the stencil dyeing technique suggest that this fabric is Kyo-Yuzen.
In addition to kimono, it is a very popular pattern for remakes into items like aprons.
