Rare Green Sandalwood Kannon Statue, Hand-Carved Wood, 77cm Height, Approx. 13.6kg, Large Buddha Statue, Lucky Charm

Carved from a single log, this is a one-of-a-kind, hand-carved Kannon statue.

Height: Approx. 77cm
Width: Approx. 25cm
Weight: Approx. 13.6kg

This Kannon statue is made from Ryokudan (green sandalwood), a rare wood also known as the jewel of wood.

Ryokudan changes color when exposed to air and light, transforming from a beautiful green to a deep reddish-brown over time. This fascinating and attractive wood changes its expression as if marking time with its owner, and has been favored since ancient times as an auspicious wood.

Furthermore, Ryokudan is known for its exceptional hardness, density, and durability, symbolizing prosperity, longevity, and stability.

As you can see from the photos, the statue has a very serene and elegant facial expression.

The company I manage is celebrating its 23rd anniversary and, thankfully, continues to grow its business. This September, we are scheduled to move into a new company building. Amidst this fortunate flow of good fortune, I have decided, with a heavy heart, to part with this personal item that I have cherished for many years, as part of my life review.

Recommended for entryways, living rooms, reception rooms, offices, shops, and more.

P.S.
This item was purchased over 20 years ago from the president of a trading company with whom I do business. While it is confirmed to be made of Ryokudan, the artist, era, and other details are unknown. This is not a historical artifact from hundreds of years ago or a national treasure-class artwork. We hope to pass it on to someone who appreciates the charm, presence, and atmosphere of a hand-carved, one-of-a-kind item.

【Notes】
Please refrain from purchasing if you are seeking perfection in a used item. It is difficult to eliminate all minor oversights, and measurements are taken by hand, so please allow for slight errors. Only those who understand and accept used items should make a purchase.
