Description
Thank you for viewing.

This is a set of two Kannon Bodhisattva statues, one with a carving by Takamura Koun and the other with a carving by Zuiun.

The larger statue has the following inscription on the back:

Kaigan Eihei Genpo
82-year-old Takamura Koun

The smaller statue has the inscription Zuiun Saku (Made by Zuiun), and is believed to be a work from the lineage of Takamura Koun's disciple, Yamamoto Zuiun.

Both statues are beautifully crafted with delicate drapery and serene expressions, possessing a strong presence despite their small size. The halos and lotus pedestals are also meticulously sculpted, making them attractive as Buddhist art and antique art.

The material is believed to be copper, bronze, or a bronze alloy.
