BJORKIS (pronounced roughly BEE-york-iss) is a manufacturer of dog sleds and dog goods based in Kiruna, a city in northern Sweden known for aurora observation. The brand name BJORKIS (officially with two dots over the 'o') is derived from the name of the wood used for dog sleds.
Initially, they only manufactured dog sleds, but they now handle a wide range of dog goods for active dogs, including harnesses, collars, leashes, dog wear, and training dog toys.
Their harnesses and half-choke collars, in particular, are very popular not only among active dog enthusiasts but also among general dog owners due to their wide variety of colors and soft, cushioned materials. The size is handwritten in marker on the inside of the collars and harnesses (this is written by Bjorkis during manufacturing. Occasionally, some may not have this marking).
The stitching and thread finishing on the inside of the collars and harnesses are rough.
Some may not be sewn to the very edge, and threads may be stretched, frayed, or cut in the middle. Also, the stitching method may vary slightly from product to product (see image below).
While some customers may feel uneasy as the stitching is not as precise as that of Japanese manufacturers, there are no issues with usability.
Additionally, some products may have needle holes remaining from where threads have come undone. If this is a concern, we do not recommend purchasing.
