Vintage Mother-of-Pearl Shell Basket - Rare, One-Piece Mold, Hard-to-Find Item

Rare, One-Piece Construction
Vintage Mother-of-Pearl Shell Basket Trinket Dish

Thank you for viewing.
This is a natural mother-of-pearl shell basket purchased overseas several decades ago.

Luxurious One-Piece Construction (Carved from a Single Piece)
Many modern items have handles that are glued on. This basket, however, was meticulously crafted by carving a handle from a single, thick shell, a highly labor-intensive process for a luxury craft item. With no seams, its beauty is evident from every angle.
Exquisite Pearlescent Sheen
It emits a deep, elegant, iridescent glow characteristic of mother-of-pearl.
Today, it is difficult to source such thick, high-quality natural shells and produce them in a one-piece construction, making this a rare, one-of-a-kind vintage item.

[Size]
Approx. 13.7cm x 8cm
Depth: Approx. 5cm (Approx. 7cm including handle)

[Condition]
This item has been stored for a long time. There are no noticeable damages, but please check the photos as it is an old item. The remains of an original sticker are still attached to the bottom. Some areas may appear slightly discolored, but this is characteristic of natural shell. Please enjoy the texture, including the fine surface irregularities inherent to natural materials.

Use as a tray for accessories or keys
Use as an interior decorative object (it's particularly beautiful when placed by a window, reflecting light)
