This is a rare old piece of tableware featuring a Hina doll motif.
It depicts charming standing Hina dolls and a *gosho-guruma* (imperial carriage) in vibrant colors with fine hand-painting.
From the Meiji period, this is a rather generously sized tea bowl.

While many vessels with Hina doll patterns are made today, this is a rare design for antique tableware.
It's not a child's toy like for pretend play, but a tea bowl for formal dining, and was likely a luxury item at the time.

◆ Condition ◆

The firing of the lid is slightly imperfect, with crazing (cracks in the glaze) on both the front and back.
Is there a firing defect inside the tea bowl body?

The lid does not fit perfectly.
There are scuffs, stains, small paint chips, warping, wobbling, unevenness, kiln marks, etc.
Please assume there are other less noticeable imperfections in addition to the above.
