■Product Description
A storm glass is a weather forecasting instrument used by sailors and others in the 19th century. It is made by sealing camphor (camphor tree extract), ethanol, and other substances in a glass tube, and was used to observe the crystals that formed in response to climate changes. It is even installed on the Nautilus in Jules Verne's novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. As science advanced, it became clear that the crystallization phenomenon is still largely a mystery, and details are still under research. While its practical use as a weather predictor is difficult today, please enjoy the ever-changing crystals of the TempoDrop series, much like the changing scenery of the seasons.
