This is an S.S.T. (Special Service Tool) mainly used on European cars and the like to widen the gap at the mounting point of the strut housing (lower part of the strut) when working on the suspension. The tip has an oval-like shape, and by inserting it into the narrowed part and turning the socket with a 1/2 dr ratchet or similar tool, you can widen the gap. It is less likely to cause scratches that can occur when using a chisel or pry bar, and it can be used in relatively tight spaces. If the size is compatible, it can also be used on motorcycle front forks, etc.
