Vajra (Buddhist ritual implement)
This is a very mystical Vajra that is neither too big nor too small. m(_ _)m
The size is just right, so you can carry it in your bag or put it in your pocket.
●Width = approx. 8.5cm
●Weight = approx. 50.2g
The Vajra is said to originate from the weapon of the god Indra (Taishakuten) who appears in ancient Indian mythology. In Sanskrit, it is called Vajra, meaning as firm as a diamond, it crushes all worldly desires. In Esoteric Buddhism, it is used as a ritual object representing the mind that crushes worldly desires and seeks enlightenment.
There are different types of Vajra depending on the number of protrusions at both ends. It is also widely known as the ritual object held by Kobo Daishi (Kukai) in Shingon Esoteric Buddhism.
