☆Gion Geisha and Maiko Sensuda
Blue Green Japanese Style
Sticker Set (2 pieces)
Sensuda are said to have originated from the custom of Nofsuda (votive slips) offered as proof of pilgrimage during the Kannon pilgrimage. Geisha and Maiko have a custom of giving out Sensuda with their names on them as business cards to their customers. It is said that if you keep one in your wallet, money will 舞い込む (maikomu - flutter in), which sounds like 舞妓む (maiko mu - to be a maiko). Incidentally, geisha were formerly maiko, so money is said to 舞い込む even more (元舞妓む - moto maiko mu - to be a former maiko)!
