Description
This is a three-legged bronze censer with Xuan mark on the bottom and Chaotian ear handles.
It features high, upward-curving handles on either side, a rounded body, and a stable three-legged base. Despite its small size, it possesses a calm presence characteristic of antique bronze ware.
Chaotian ear (heaven-facing ear) refers to handles shaped as if reaching towards the sky, a design that has been favored for censers and scholarly objects since ancient times.
The body exhibits a brown patina developed over time, with layers of verdigris and tarnish in places, lending it the authentic texture of a long-preserved metalwork.
The Xuan mark on the base is a notable feature reminiscent of the Xuande style of the Ming Dynasty, making it a delightful piece for desk decoration, incense use, or as part of a bronze collection.

Design/Motif
The Chaotian ear is a formal design with handles extending upwards, a refined style traditionally used for censers, ritual vessels, and scholarly objects.
The three-legged structure not only stabilizes the vessel but also adds a sense of gravitas found in antique bronze ware.
The Xuan mark on the base is a traditional inscription reminiscent of the Xuande censer style, serving as a point of appreciation for collectors of antiques.
The layered brown patina, verdigris, and internal soot marks create a deep expression unique to bronze censers that have passed through many years.
