I use this myself and find it very convenient for temperature management during both winter and summer.
The included battery lasts approximately 6 to 12 months. The initial battery is sufficient, so please rest assured!

(Note: The replacement battery is a button cell LR1130. Please be aware that you will need to remove screws to replace it.)

The silver color should fit perfectly with any aquarium setup!
Due to the nature of this product, it is not suitable for curved or spherical aquariums.
