Wilkhahn was founded in 1907 by a furniture craftsman in a suburb of northern Germany. It began by producing furniture through traditional industry using beech wood from the region.
Later, based on industry-academia collaboration with the Ulm School of Design, which inherited the Bauhaus philosophy, through diligent research and a sincere design philosophy, they pursued functional beauty and solid craftsmanship, becoming synonymous with modern German design.
