Description
This is a core rope (4mm x 1.2m) with splices and a double block for the ILCA (Laser) class boom vang (kick rope) system.
Recently, RONSTAN released a vang unit that weighs half as much as the standard vang unit from HARKEN. This system can be used with either the RONSTAN or HARKEN vang units.
It is compatible with all ILCA classes: Laser 4.7 (ILCA 4), Laser Radial (ILCA 6), and Laser Standard (ILCA 7).
Manufactured using RONSTAN carbon blocks and MAFIOLI Dyneema single braids, this is a lightweight yet extremely durable system. The RONSTAN blocks weigh a total of 14g, exactly half the weight of the standard HARKEN 28g stainless steel double blocks. Despite their lightness, they have a safe working load of 300kg, significantly exceeding HARKEN's 204kg, and a breaking load of 800kg, approximately 1.5 times HARKEN's breaking load of 544kg, making them incredibly strong blocks.
