This harmonica was conceived by master harmonica player Hisataka Saito over many years for folk song enthusiasts, as a harmonica for folk songs.
Traditional seven-note scales (do, re, mi, fa, so, la, ti) on harmonicas are suited for Western music, and playing Japanese folk songs on them can sound unnatural.
Therefore, this 30-hole chromatic harmonica was created based on three types of pentatonic scales (5-note scales), which are fundamental to Japanese and East Asian music.
It can also be applied to enka songs depending on the piece.

Miyabine (雅音)
This scale allows you to play the minor scale (with the 4th and 7th notes removed) using only blow notes.

Since the 5 notes of the scale are arranged on the blow notes, you can play it with a flute-like feel.
It also makes it easier to express the kobushi (a characteristic vocal vibrato in Japanese folk and enka music) which is difficult on regular chromatic harmonicas.
You can also play enka songs without strain.
The draw notes have sounds not found on the blow notes.
