Akarette → Leica-M Mount Adapter and 4 Lenses. GFX Compatible
A set of four Schneider prime lenses from the early 1950s, with a mount adapter that converts the lens mount from an Agfa Agfa-X (Akarette) camera to a Leica M mount (rangefinder not coupled).
Both Xenar lenses nearly cover the GFX sensor.
- Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 1:2/50
- Exterior is as clean as new, and the lens has no scratches. However, there are noticeable coating unevenness and cloudiness on the inner elements, which may result in a slightly soft image. A good double-Gauss type lens.
- Aperture and focus are problem-free.
- Schneider Kreuznach Xenar 1:3.5/50
- Exterior is clean. The lens has some dust but no scratches and is clean. Likely a 3-group, 4-element Tessar type with beautiful bokeh and sharp imaging.
- Both aperture and focus operate smoothly.
- Schneider Kreuznach Xenar 1:2.8/45
- A somewhat rare Schneider 45mm. Similar to the above, it's likely a Tessar type, but it's slightly wider angle, brighter, and compact.
- Exterior has some dirt. The nameplate is significantly deteriorated and dirty, and there is a large scratch on the front element. However, for some reason, it doesn't seem to significantly affect actual image quality.
- Aperture and focus are problem-free.
- Schneider Kreuznach Xenagon 1:3.5/35
- This is a Xenagon based on the Xenar, not a Leica mount Xenogon. When illuminated, the diaphragm appears to have 5-6 blades, suggesting a 3-group, 4-element configuration plus a wide-angle converter element. The front element of the lens appears to have very minor scratches, and there seems to be some dust inside, but it's unlikely to significantly affect actual image quality. The exterior has some minor scratches on the lens mounting ring, but is generally clean.
- Aperture and focus rings are problem-free.
Photos 12 onwards are samples taken with a GFX50s ii via a Shoten mount adapter. The order corresponds to the lens details listed above. Both Xenar lenses exhibit vignetting but no light fall-off at the edges.
Photos 16 onwards are samples taken with a SONY A7S. Each was shot wide open at the lens's minimum focusing distance.
The size is selected as αE, but it is actually Leica M.
