SiC has a thermal conductivity that is 5.7 times that of improved hard rings. When the line is suddenly pulled strongly or when reeling in a large fish, instantaneous high heat is generated at the contact point with the ring.
The SiC ring diffuses this heat in an instant, protecting your precious line.

Super Smoothness
SiC rings feature a mirror-polished finish at a gem-like level. Because SiC, which is hard and resistant to deformation, is polished to be extremely smooth through a special manufacturing process, the surface is smooth even under a microscope. In line cutting tests compared to improved hard rings, it recorded over 20 times the line lifespan due to its astonishingly low friction resistance (our test).
