However, a rod that is only soft, while it may catch bites, presents the challenge of not being able to set the hook effectively. Therefore, a two-stage taper structure is adopted, which catches delicate bites with the tip and reliably sets the hook with the butt. By tapering the main body, a supple bend is achieved. A flattened tip section absorbs lateral shake and excess vibration, and also makes it easier for fish to continue biting. It excels in visual sensitivity, which magnifies even small bites, making it easy for beginners to detect bites. Compared to conventional designs, the tip width has been narrowed and the softer section has been lengthened, designed to greatly amplify the extremely small bites of wakasagi that tend to be taken subtly and slowly, especially in recent conditions.
