⚪︎ When targeting flatfish year-round, bluefish are always caught in the same white water. Depending on the location, bluefish tend to pull harder than fish of the same weight within the white water. Even the current MOSS can handle up to 4kg, but it can be quite challenging with fish over 5kg. Therefore, MOSS REEF was born from requests for a rod that can catch both bluefish and flatfish. Designed for frequent catches of 4kg to a maximum of 6kg in white water, and capable of targeting amberjack class fish in open water blitzes. The blank's action is set with a 6:4 ratio favoring bluefish over flatfish. The tip is delicately designed for minnow specifications, with a maximum lure weight of 70g. However, it can handle S-shaped jerk lures up to 60g and possesses butt torque to operate jigs up to 80g for surface jerking in response to unexpected blitzes. During testing, 16g was used as the minimum lure weight to catch flatfish. We hope you will fully pursue and catch both types of fish with this ultra-lightweight MOSS REEF.


This rod has incredible power, so we recommend using hooks of size 3 or larger (ST56 or SP/RB-MH).

Tested on rocky shores and offshore reefs in the Kii Peninsula (Koura, Shirahama, Susami, Mirozu, Kushimoto) targeting 4-5kg class flatfish and bluefish in white water. We developed a power rod that surpasses the Moss, compatible with various lures such as poppers, diving pencils, jigs, minnows, and vibes. The blank is finished to allow for very strong fights with fish around 5kg. The rod's weight is particularly suited for delicate bluefish plugging.
