Handpan, Small size 49cm, 10 notes, D minor, A=432Hz

Handpan
49cm, 10 Notes, D Minor

Despite its smaller size of 49cm compared to the usual 56cm, this handpan is tuned to D minor (starting with the note D).
It's also a rare 10-note model.
It's impressive how 10 notes were arranged in this size.

Most small models usually start with G (Sol), which is 3 notes higher.
However, this model, despite its small size, has the same scale as the basic 56cm model, making it a very rare find.
It's very convenient for carrying.

The color is copper.

It is tuned to A4 (La) = 432Hz.
Modern instruments are all tuned to A4 = 440Hz, but before 1939, classical music was tuned to 432Hz.
Mozart and Vivaldi composed in 432Hz.
The 432Hz tuning sounds gentler and more beautiful, with a healing effect. Nowadays, Steiner education and other methods use 432Hz instruments to expose children to scales.

This is a new item, but it has been opened for photography, inspection, and cleaning.

The pitch has been checked and tuned to the best of our ability.

The last image shows the frequencies for each note.
The center note is the fundamental, starting with D3 (the note D).
The numbers below the center D3 represent the actually measured frequencies.
The range of notes can vary depending on how it is played.
The center number is the reference frequency of A4 = 432Hz.

Tuning solely by frequency can sometimes lead to a dissonance with the actual sound.
We have tuned it to be aurally pleasing and within the achievable range.
