NFT Soshitsu (Total Lacquer) Kotsugi Shogetsu 9-foot Rod
This is a stream fishing rod for small rivers.
As the name Soshitsu suggests, the ferrules are decorated with a lacquered pattern resembling insect bites.
The handle is made of rattan wrap and bamboo, giving it the appearance of a work by a traditional Japanese rod craftsman. However, this is an unusual rod from the NFT era, made by Shimano.
It is likely a rod from the late Showa period, when collaborations with natural crafts were popular.
While I found regular Shogetsu rods on other sites, I could not find this Soshitsu series anywhere else.
It is a rare item, but its high quality as a craft makes it desirable for those who appreciate it.
