✳️ Many high-quality floats listed✳️
We are listing items in good condition from our collection.
These were specially acquired by my father from a fishing tackle shop in Kyoto many years ago.
These items were brought by the second generation Umaisuke and are undoubtedly authentic.
Regarding the condition of the items, due to their age, some may have damage to the peacock feather parts, but the main body has no noticeable scratches, has luster and shine, and is in good condition.
✳️ No price reductions, first come, first served.

Kyoto First Umaisuke (around 1912 - 1931)
First Umaisuke only made floats as a hobby for himself and his friends, so very few exist today, making them rare items.
After his death, a small number were distributed as inheritance. (Many were unfinished products with only the wooden body completed, and very few were lacquered.)
A characteristic of First's work is that the wooden body is finished with raw lacquer to achieve a precise shape and texture. He only worked up to the point of shaping the bamboo foot, so it is cut into a conical shape.
Floats with peacock feathers were invented by First and are numerous due to their good visibility.
Both First and the second generation have wooden bodies without distortion, beautiful lacquer coating without unevenness, and a clean finish at the joint between the body and the bamboo foot, with perfect coating.
There are also many practice pieces. Please note that items with unshaped bamboo feet or decorative painting on the feet are not by Umaisuke.
Luxurious floats using gold leaf and other materials are from the second generation Umaisuke.
From this period through the Heisei era, many wonderful fly floats were available.
✳️ Images 19 and 20 are included as reference material from a book published in the Showa era. (This book is not included.)
