The Lightning Bolt brand is a casual surf brand that originated in Hawaii in the 1960s. It is said to have started when legendary surfer Gerry Lopez and his friends began using surfboards with the lightning bolt symbol and selling surfboards. In 1971, it made a spectacular global debut alongside Gerry Lopez's brilliant surfing on the North Shore, quickly spreading as a legendary super brand among surfers worldwide.
