A cheerful and bright melody. The artistic paradise, the small Indonesian island of Bali. It is tuned to the scale of the instruments used in Wayang Kulit, a shadow puppet theater that has been loved and cherished by people there for a long time.

■ What is WOODSTOCK?
WOODSTOCK, a manufacturer of wind chimes, was founded in 1979 by Garry Kvistad, a music professor and world-renowned percussionist.
The company was an early adopter of computer methods for tuning chimes, and you will notice the meticulous tuning, as precise as that of a musical instrument, after just one listen.

■ The secret to its beautiful sound, said to be the world's best?
Its beautiful resonance is achieved through precisely calculated tuning, but that's not all. By also incorporating an ancient tuning method called Just Intonation, the tubes of different pitches resonate with each other, creating even more beautiful harmonies.
This is achieved through careful selection of materials and a consistent handcrafted process, not solely relying on machinery.
In October 19, 1990, Woodstock Chimes reached the pinnacle of its success when it was incorporated into a performance by the Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Seiji Ozawa, at Carnegie Hall in New York.
From the mystical Gregorian to the grand Westminster, none of the chimes produce dissonant sounds, and even the slightest breeze draws you in with their clear chords.
While imitations have since appeared, nothing has yet surpassed Woodstock chimes, which are said to have the world's best tone and craftsmanship.
