Introducing the Shinpen Special, a step up from the Bakuto Special with enhanced butt power.
This rod comfortably handles 10kg class yellowtail on offshore surf, rocky shores, and in harbors, and 7kg class fish on rocky outcrops. It is designed for durability with constant full casting of 40-50g sinking pencils, while also being as lightweight as possible. This allows for agile jerking, popping, and other repetitive rod work, enabling prolonged fishing trips with sustained concentration.
It also accommodates large baitfish patterns, such as the 20cm class Japanese sardine or 30cm class konoshiro and mullet that large yellowtail prey on in harbors during autumn. It excels with large minnows and topwater lures weighing 30-50g.
While designed with a stiffer tip to easily handle large minnows and heavy sinking pencils, it can also comfortably handle minnows around 18g without any issues.
In terms of casting distance, it is adjusted to be easily loaded and highly resilient, providing overwhelming casting distance in situations where long casts are crucial, such as shallow surf or targeting boiling fish.
With a pendulum cast of 2m with PE 1.5, a full cast will result in a consistent range of over 90m with 40g sinking pencils and over 100m with 50g jigs.
Target species include flatfish, sea bass, blackfin sea bass, Spanish mackerel, yellowtail, and other fish species up to the 7kg class that can be targeted from shore.
