■Shonai Rod Lure Rod Two-Piece (Spiral Brass Pipe Joint) Japanese Rod Bamboo Rod Nigatake Lure Rare

This is a Shonai Rod (lure rod) from the Shonai region of Yamagata Prefecture.

I purchased it around 2000 at Kuroishi Fishing Tackle Shop in Yamagata Prefecture and have kept it as part of my collection for a long time.

At the time, Kuroishi Fishing Tackle Shop had a rod craftsman (Mr. Shōichi Kuroishi) who made Shonai Rods, and it is believed that this rod was made by him.
(Since there is no inscription on the rod, it is not possible to say for sure who made it, but the description that came with the purchase listed Mr. Shōichi Kuroishi as the craftsman.)
Nowadays, there are few craftsmen who manufacture and sell Shonai Rods, and it is becoming rare to see them, so I believe this is a rare item.
This is an extremely unusual item, a lure rod made with such a Shonai Rod.

It has not been used for actual fishing and I believe its condition is as it was when purchased.
I have performed regular maintenance (wiping with a tightly wrung towel, then buffing, and then wiping with a thin layer of carnauba wax, followed by buffing), but as it is amateur maintenance, it may not be perfect.

Although it has not been used for actual fishing, it is an old item, so please check the condition carefully in the photos.
