Super Rare ♪ NIKKAN Made 〈Patterned Castanets〉 Crisp Sound ♪ Wooden Showa Retro

Thank you for viewing.

NIKKAN (Nippon Wind Instrument Co., Ltd.), which has been producing excellent wind instruments since the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras.

Absorbed by Yamaha in 1970, it is now only a nostalgic memory.
We are listing a rare castanet made by the company.

Size: 7.2 cm (height) x 4.3 cm (width) x 3.1 cm (thickness)
Handle: 12 cm
Weight: Approx. 60g

The wood grain and color are very beautiful, and it makes a hard, high-pitched kakkakkakkakka sound.

When you think of Nikkan, you imagine trumpets and clarinets, so I wondered if they also made castanets.
Since they also made recorders, I thought perhaps they manufactured them for a period...

I cannot definitively state that it is a Nikkan product as there is no information available online, but based on the Nikkan engraving, the high quality, and the fact that fake castanets are unlikely, I infer that it is a Nikkan product.

As I cannot guarantee this, please accept it as no-claims, no-returns.

Also, as there is no outer box or instruction manual, the type of wood is unknown.
The handle is painted black, and the shell parts, with their beautiful wood grain, are likely ebony, golden ebony, or rosewood.
Given the sharp, crisp sound and color, I believe golden ebony is the closest match.
