This is a Tairaba rod from Kaiyu, a specialized Tairaba manufacturer with a proven track record, particularly around Akashi.

It's not often found in stores.
I happened to find it in stock at a fishing tackle shop and bought it after much deliberation.
It's a full solid rod with incredible sensitivity, easy to use for both hooking and landing fish, and also easy to handle.
We highly recommend this item to anyone who loves Tairaba, from beginners to advanced anglers.

A full solid, short model for inner seas such as Akashi, Kada, and the Seto Inland Sea.
The blank bends beautifully from the belly and retains some power in the butt, making it a rod that allows you to enjoy fighting with fish through rod work. At 6.2ft, it's short and easy to cast with an underhand motion, making it ideal for casting with bait reels. As it's an XUL with a moderate action, we recommend a slightly stronger drag setting.
