Okinawa Sanshin Ebony/Kuroki Neck Yonashiro Edo Model Genuine Snake Skin Single Layer Premium Model

This sanshin has been adjusted at a sanshin shop in Sumida, Tokyo, so its condition is perfect. It's a great instrument for playing or for collecting.

It is coated with a red lacquer called Urushi-nuri, but the grain and weight of the heartwood (neck shaft) indicate that it is ebony. Even if the model is Edo Yonashiro, it is very heavy and I believe it is a very valuable neck called maguro (deep black) where white wood is almost invisible.

The skin is stretched on both sides with genuine leather, and the tension is on the softer side. The tuning pegs are also now rare handmade items, showing that it was crafted with great care.

Condition and Scratches:
There is some dirt on the paint due to age, but no damage that diminishes its value.
