Sanshin (Okinawan instrument) - Kokutan (Ebony) Sanshin
This is a Sanshin crafted by an Okinawan artisan.
The neck is made of Kokwood.
It is crafted from high-quality wood with no scratches or cracks.
The wood is well-dried with no warping or bending.
The chisel work on the tuning pegs in images 1, 2, 13, and 14 is also the work of a skilled artisan. Additionally, the chisel work on the back of the nails in images 19 and 20
is also artisan craftsmanship.
The photo inside the Chiga (skin) in image 7 is faded, but
it is from Hirao-ri Sanshin Store. The address is from Koza City before Okinawa's reversion to Japan.
The Chiga material is Chagi.
The skin is reinforced snake skin, 2 years old. It has a good resonance and is well-stretched.
For this listing, it has been adjusted and maintained by a local Sanshin store.
