Sanshin Picks - Whalebone + Whale Tooth - Type B - Final Listing

This is an extremely rare item that fully utilizes two types of natural materials. Both are made from the scarce teeth of sperm whales and baleen from fin whales.

This is a highly artistic piece crafted from rare materials such as whale baleen and whale teeth, and is recommended for those who:
• Are interested in bone and horn materials
• Are interested in traditional musical instruments and ethnic cultures
• Collect handicrafts and rare natural materials

The materials were legally obtained, and the item is entirely shaped and polished by hand.
*Please note that due to the nature of natural materials, there may be variations in color or fine lines. These are considered characteristics of the material itself.

Whales, known for their long lives, have been considered auspicious since ancient times, and whale products are said to ward off evil when worn.

There may be some who report this item to Mercari's Wildlife Protection department, similar to ivory, believing it to be a violation (I have previously received penalties such as item deletion and listing suspension, but after explaining the situation to the department and requesting an investigation, it was finally understood correctly). However, these two types of whale products are not prohibited items by the Ministry of the Environment. I have also confirmed this by phone with the relevant department of the Ministry of the Environment. Furthermore, the whale baleen used for this material is old, dating back over 30 years before Japan ceased whaling.
Therefore, this item does not fall under the category of ivory and specimens of rare wild animals and plants that do not have the required registration under the Law for the Conservation of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Please do not misunderstand. We also ask that purchasers buy with peace of mind.
